#switchtosafer Friday with a few other tips

Woohoo! Finally Friday 🙂 I have a few fun things to share that I’m currently digging and a little freebie Friday action thanks to Beautycounter! Hey, I feel like everyone loves a good deal, so I had better share.

 1. Bird feeder! This one suction cups (I guess that’s how you say that…) to the window so perfect for a little one’s room or a kitchen window. Or maybe even an office window 🙂

2. Book + Bible study! Lately I have been trying to prioritize this first thing in the AM. Some AMs are successful… some are not. But there’s nothing like a new study to motivate you! I’m super excited to start this She Reads Truth study (I mean how beautiful is this!!)… Danielle with Against All Grain actually did the recipes for the “grace days” 🙂 I have been doing She Reads Truth studies off and on since they started back when I was in college. Love them!

3. BEAUTYCOUNTER eye cream to the rescue! This week has been crazy, work + a little boy cutting some big teeth = tired eyes/skin. This eye cream has been my staple. Both men and women can use it and most of the time the men end up using it more than us women. And that facial oil in the background… it is amazing. This week I have washed my face with the charcoal bar, massaged 3 drops of the oil in my face, then dabbed the eye cream around the eyes. Quick and easy routine!

And guess what? You can get both of these FOR FREE plus some other goodies!! Here’s how: add $121 of products to your cart + add a membership to the cart ($29 for a year, all perks, no tricks and NO monthly orders!) and you will receive:

  • FREE Soothing Facial Oil ($68 value)
  • FREE Rejuvenating Eye Cream ($58 value)
  • FREE Calendula Lip Balm ($20 value)
  • FREE Shipping ($5.95 value)
  • AND $18.15 store credit towards your next order!

That’s $320.10 worth of products + store credit all for $150!!! Talk about an awesome opportunity to #switchtosafer products. Shop through the end of the month and be entered into a drawing for a prize by using this link–> Courtney’s Switch to Safer party link. Don’t need all of those products? They all make great gifts! 4. Bacon + grapefruit on a salad. So good!! Dinner last night was a hit with me and the boys. Do you see Leo in the photo? He got a little piece too. Don’t worry!

5. Gingerade kombucha. Love this drink… and especially as a midday fizzy with lunch 🙂

That’s it!! Y’all have a great afternoon and happy weekend from the Cookin Up Life crew…

#betterbeauty Friday: Charcoal Mask

Ahh happy Friday!! As you all know (or maybe not!), I’m a consultant and #betterbeauty advocate with Beautycounter. I started right after Thanksgiving and, y’all, I’m loving it!

I want to spotlight a product that’s making my #switchtosafer (check out what makes BC safer here) easier and worth my time + money. I know many of us try our best to watch what we put inside and outside of our bodies, but sometimes you get sucked in by a marketing tactics and spending money on items that aren’t as “clean” as appears. A word such as “natural” can be thrown on just about anything, and we think we can trust it. Reality is, you have to research (EWG rocks as a resource)! Educate yourself. It’s fun and worth it. Especially when it comes down to putting your hard earned  money on a quality product that you want to see work!!

Lately, I have been treating myself to a charcoal mask (check it out here) 2 times a week. I seriously look forward to this!!

Yes, I look a tad… funny. But it is amazing! And Tripp thinks it’s hilarious 🙂 Most masks/peels leave your face dry and tight. But Beautycounter’s sucks all the bad out while leaving the good oils around (yes, just like healthy fats, we need good face oils too!).

Here’s a little about it straight from BC:

“… The formula helps improve skin’s overall condition by refining the appearance of pores and increasing elasticity. Offers a purifying treatment for congested skin and a 10-minute spa-grade facial…”

Check it out for yourself here through my link–> my BC link!

If you’re curious about the mask, comment below or message me on the Cookin’ Up Life Facebook page.

Happy weekend y’all 🙂 And hey, throw on a pot of that Golden Chicken Soup (recipe in yesterday’s blog post) I posted last night. It won’t disappoint and that superpowered soup will be great for the skin too 🙂
